Ninth Annual Student Symposium
April 10 and 11, 2006

More students than ever participated in the ninth annual Student Symposium on Tuesday, April 11 at Lake Forest College. More than 350 students presented and over 1400 attendees were recorded.

For the first time, the program kicked off a day earlier on Monday, April 10, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Durand Art Institute among student art exhibits and gallery talks.

The Symposium concluded with a music performance in honor of Mozart's 250th birthday in Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel at 7 p.m. on April 11. All events associated with the Symposium were free and open to the public.

Venues across campus accommodated the large number of presentations, including the Donnelley and Lee Library, Hotchkiss Hall, Lily Reid Hold Memorial Chapel, Durand Art Institute, and the cafeteria, which featured special global lunch and dinner menus.

About the Student Symposium

The Lake Forest College Student Symposium provides students with an opportunity to share their scholarly research and creative projects to the College community through presentations, exhibits, debates, performances, demonstrations, and posters. The day is a testament to our diverse achievements inside and outside the classroom. Regular classes are cancelled on the day of the Symposium so faculty, staff, and students can participate in the events. Lake Forest College also welcomes the general public to attend the symposium and support this celebration of student scholarship and intellectual engagement. Since its initiation in 1998, this event has been among the high points of the academic year.

Please, address all Symposium related questions to either Shubhik DebBurman ( or 847-735-6040) or Harriet Doud ( or 847-735-5121)
